End Of Year Celebration and Graduation Party

Each year the SPHC holds an End of the Year Celebration and Graduation party to honor our current group of graduates and recognize the tremendous academic effort each of our students makes as they work toward eventual degree completion. This is a very popular event for SPHC students and is usually attended by over 100 students, children and other family members. This event is typically held in early May. Please watch this page closely during spring term for specific time, date and location information. Electronic invitations are also sent each April to all SPHC registered students.

2008 End of Year Celebration and Graduation Event Details:

This year's event takes place on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 from 3:00PM-6:00PM at Van Cleve Community Center (901 15th Ave. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414). An East Indian cuisine buffet-style dinner, catered by Little Taj Mahal, will be provided.

Schedule of Events:

3:00-3:30PM Guests Arrive

3:30-4:30PM Goldy Gopher appearance, piñatas, and games/playground time

4:00-5:00PM Dinner ongoing (buffet-style)

5:00-6:00PM Prize giveaways, honor graduates

Other Events

The SPHC tries to hold various family friendly events throughout the course of each academic year. Past events have included study nights during mid-terms and finals, clothing exchanges, movie nights and other fun activities. Student Parent Visibility Day

The SPHC, in conjunction with the Student Parent Association (SPA)holds a Student Parent Visibility Day each year. The SPVD event is designed to raise awareness of the vital role that student parents play at the U of M and on campuses across the nation. Additionally, each year the SPHC and SPA invite numerous teen parent programs from the metro area to this event in order to provide young moms and dads with early exposure to higher education.The 2007-2008 SPVD was held on November 6, 2007 and was attended by 187 teen parents.
